1940 Gasser - The Teixeira (A1800928) in 1/18 Scale model by ACME (New)
Story of the car:
“Big John” Mazmanian. Stone, Woods & Cook. K.S. Pittman. These are all names synonymous with the infamous Gasser Wars of the 1960s. However, there is another gasser that ran at the top of the B/Gas ranks during the latter part of the 1960s, Fred Teixeira’s candy apple red 1940 Gasser! Fred Teixeira was a raisin farmer in Fresno, CA. He was an early day drag racer and in 1964 he started to build the Teixeira Gasser. Little did he know that he would go on to be a 4 time NHRA B/G Champion with this amazing Gasser!
